ITINERARY
3 Days / 2 Nights Zenkoji – Yudanaka
DAY 1 Tokyo – Zenkoji L, D
Take a bullet train to Nagano. Upon arrival,you will be met by an English speaking assistant. Board a local bus to Togakushi and visit Soba Museum. Try “Soba Uchi (Japanese Soba Noodle making)” and enjoy soba lunch. Visit Togakushi shrine and then transfer to Nagano. Take local bus to Zenkoji Temple. Stay at one of the 30 temple lodges and experience Monk’s dinner.
Hotel: Fuchinobo, Zenkoji (Japanese room, sharing bath & toilet, 1 night)
DAY 2 Zenkoji – Yudanaka B, D
Enjoy a half-day tour with visits to Meiji Jingu, Japan’s famous Shinto Shrineand Imperial Palace East Garden, site of the original Edo Castle. Browse through the many stores lining Nakamise-dori walkway leading up to Asakusa Kannon Temple (Senso-ji Temple), Tokyo’s oldest and most famous Buddhist temple. Your tour will disband at Ginza Area.
Visit Zenkoji temple with an English speaking assistant. Take local train to Obuse (approx. 30min.), a small town called “A little Kyoto”. Sightseeing in Obuse. The assistant will help you to board a train to Yudanaka. Arrive at Yudanaka and take hotel shuttle for transfer to your hotel.
Overnight: Issanokomichi Biyunoyado (Japanese room, 1 night)
DAY 3 Snow Monkey Park – Yudanaka – Nagano – Tokyo B
Morning visit Snow Monkey Park. Complimentary transfers from hotel to park (admissions extra). Take local train to Nagano and connect on bullet train to Tokyo.
