This will include a visit to 3 essential provinces of Thailand. To fully enhance your experience we will leave a lot of days free with an option to choose any activities you would like to do with us. From The City of Angels, Bangkok, the present capital city of Thailand, is a vibrant city, a national treasure house and Thailand’s spiritual, cultural, political, commercial, educational and diplomatic enter with endless choice of sightseeing and entertainment opportunities. In addition to the many temples and historic buildings, such as The Grand Palace and Wat Arun, the list of interesting places to visit is endless. We fly northward to the next province Chiang Rai, the first capital of Lanna Kingom and home to many ethnic hill tribes and a splendid White Temple; there are plenty of things to do from sipping tea amidst the misty mountain to taking a long tail boat ride on the mighty Mekong River. Last but not least is Chiang Mai, the main attraction of the north with wide range of activities and things to do; it’s rich in culture and has an abundance of temples and fascinating architecture, which are a fusion of Lanna, Mon, and Burmese styles. Here you will get an introduction to Lanna cuisine and explore the old town in rickshaw.

DAY BY DAY ITINERARY

DAY 1 Bangkok Arrival

Arrive in Bangkok. Your guide will welcome you at Suvarnabhumi Airport with a warm traditional “Thai Smile” and escort you on a brief orientation tour of the City of Angels before checking you in at your selected hotel Already along the way you will be introduced to the traditions and customs of Thai culture, how to greet with a local “wai” and other useful tips and fun facts about the Land of Smiles.

Bangkok or what Thai people called Krungthep Mahanakorn, meaning the City of Angel, is the present capital city and the focal point for Thailand. It is a vibrant city; a national treasure house and Thailand’s spiritual, cultural, political, commercial, educational and diplomatic enter with endless choice of sightseeing and entertainment opportunities. In addition to the many temples and historic buildings, such as The Grand Palace and Wat Arun, the list of interesting places to visit is infinite. There are the Chaophraya River and numerous canal (klong) networks, giving it the name of “Venice of the East”.

DAY 4 Bangkok – Chiang Rai

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Suvarnabhumi airport where you will board on flight to Chiang Rai.

Northern Thailand is very famous for its colourful hill tribe communities and Chiang Rai gives an insight into their rich culture and traditions. Have a chance to travel up the river by long-tailed speedboat to the Golden Triangle where the borders of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos meet, once one of the largest opium-producing areas of the world, but now famous for its beautiful scenery.

DAY 6 Chiang Rai – Chiang Mai

Breakfast at the hotel, you will drive from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai approximate 4 hours. Upon arrival in Chiang Mai, you will check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure or feel free to choose one of our optional tours.

Chiang Mai, known as “the Rose of the North”, is one of the most interesting cities in the Kingdom of Thailand. Although classed as a city, Chiang Mai is relatively small and more like a town. As the former capital of the ancient Lanna kingdom, Chiang Mai is culturally very rich and has an abundance of temples and fascinating northern Thai architecture. The beautiful Buddhist temples and their ancient interior reflects architecture and faith from more than six centuries ago.

DAY 7 Busan – Gyeongju – Daegu

Breakfast at the hotel. Today enjoy the local flavours of Chiang Mai.

This Foodie tour provides an insight into the culinary heritage of the “Rose of the North”. You will embark on a guided tour, where you will sample the delights of Chiang Mai’s cuisine, including various mouthwatering local snacks and the delicious Khao Soi – a coconut curry noodle dish that is unique to Chiang Mai! Take a local Samlor ride, a Thai style Rickshaw and drive through Chiang Mai old town to a traditional street food market, wandering through the old city to the traditional street food market while being captivated by the charm of the unique Lanna style architecture and the old Buddhist temples. Continue with a stroll through the various food stalls and simple carts and be tempted by the heady aromas. Your guide will be on hand to introduce the many local dishes on offer, so be sure to try whichever ones take your fancy- from deep fried pancakes, Kanom Jin (rice noodles with curry soup), Kanom Krok (Thai coconut pudding), noodle soup, deep fried taro, pad Thai, and everybody’s favourite sweet mango with sticky rice. If you’re feeling brave, you can even sample the local rice whisky. After this local foodie adventure return to hotel.

  • Infant sharing vehicle’s seats and existing bedding with parents is free of charge, up to 1 infant per accompanying parents. The number of infant cannot be counted toward the total guest number or total headcount.
  • Child aged 2-11 years travelling with every 2 full-paying adults and shares the same room; get 15% discount from a regular adult’s rate, maximum 1 child only. 1 extra (rollaway/ mattress) bed will be provided.
  • Extra bed is not available for stay at Anantara Chiang Mai Resort’s Deluxe Garden View and the Sukhothai Bangkok Hotel’s Superior Room.
  • Where clients’ stay overlaps two periods, a prorata will apply.
  • There is a dress code for both men and women for entering Buddhist temples in Thailand so please show respect by covering your shoulders and knees.
