ITINERARY
DAY 1 Arrive Xi’an
Met on arrival and transferred to your hotel.
Hotel: 4* Holiday Inn Xian Big Wild Goose Pagoda or similar (2 nights)
DAY 2 Xian B, L, SD
Today’s highlight is the Qin Shi Huang Di Tomb, the greatest archeological discovery in the 20th century, with its Army of Terra-Cotta Soldiers and Bronze Chariots.
Visit the ancient City Wall and local Muslim neighborhood and market. Enjoy dumpling dinner with a lively cultural entertainment this evening.
DAY 3 Xian – Jiayuguan B, D
Fly to Jiayuguan, the western ending point of the Great Wall built in Ming Dynasty. Visit Jiayuguan Pass which links the Great Wall imposingly overhanging Great Wall.

DAY 4 Jiayuguan – Dunhuang B, L, D
Drive about 4 hours to Dunhuang, a small oasis city, surrounded by desert and located at the crossroads of the ancient Silk Road.
Afternoon visit Dunhuang Museum and Singing Sand Dunes & Crescent Moon Lake including a camel ride.

DAY 5 Dunhuang – Turpan B, L
Your day begins with a tour of the magnificent Mogao Caves, world’s largest repository of Buddhist art.
Transferred to the train station to catch a late afternoon high speed train to Turpan and transferred onwards to the hotel upon arrival.
Hotel: 4* Mercure Hotel Turpan Downtown or similar (2 nights)
DAY 6 Turpan B, L, D
Visit the charming desert city, second lowest point (505 ft/154 m below sea level) in the world.
Highlights of the tour include visits to Bizaklik Thousand Buddha Caves, the ancient city of Gaocheng and Astana-Karakhoja ancient tombs.
DAY 7 Turpan – Urumqi B, L, D
Morning tour in Turpan continues with Karez Wells, the famous ancient way of irrigation which is still used nowadays, and Suleiman’s Minaret.
Take the high-speed train from Turpan to Urumqi in the afternoon (1 hour ride).

DAY 8 Urumqi B, L, D
Day excursion to the Heavenly Lake in Tianshan Mountains, enjoy cruise on the lake and view the surrounding snow mountains.
Return to the city and visit Xinjiang Museum where you see incredible ancient mummies.
Visit the local bazaar for your last minute shopping!
DAY 9 Urumqi Departure B
Transfer to the airport for your onward destination.
