 Day 1                        Arrive Chennai                           

Meet and greet on arrival and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2                        Chennai                 B

Full day Chennai sightseeing tour highlights visits to the Government Museum Art Gallery,  Santhome Cathedral, Fort St. George  and visit the ancient Kapaleeshwar Temple and  little Mount Shrine .

Day 3                        Chennai v Kanchipuram v Mahabalipuram                B,L              

Drive to Mahabalipuram (approx 60 Kms/ 02 Hrs) Enroute visit one of the  India’s sacred cities Kanchipuram (Kanchi) also known as the Golden City of a Thousand Temples.  Visit Ekambareshwar Temple, Kailashnath Temple, Kamakshi Temple, the Vaikunthaperumal Temple, all built in the 7th and 8th centuries.

Continue drive to Mahabalipuram, visit Shore Temple, one of the oldest temples in South India. Arjuna’s Penance is the world’s largest bas-relief. Visit to Rathas (Tiger Cave Temple) and Monolithic temples.

Day 4                        Mahabalipuram v Pondicherry                        B,L

Drive to Pondicherry (approx 100 Kms/ 03 Hrs)

On arrival visit Manakula Ganesh temple, Aurobindo Ashram – , the best known landmark of Pondicherry.  The Ashram, in addition to practising yoga, also provides scope for practical activity for its followers who come from all over the world.  These include construction, farming, shoe-making and laundering. Also visit the French colony.

Day 5                          Pondicherry v Tanjore                                        B,L

Transfer to  Tanjore (approx 170 Kms/ 04 Hrs), enroute visit to Chidambaram Temple which  is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in the heart of the temple town of Chidambaram,Tamil Nadu. Upon arrival, visit Brihadishwara Temple The temple was commissioned in 1010 by Rajaraja.

Day 6                         Tanjore vTrichy v Tanjore                                 B,L

Today Tour to  Trichy or Tiruchirappalli, situated on the banks of the river Cauvery is the fourth largest city in Tamil Nadu.

Visit to  Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangam which is a superb temple complex and probably the largest in India. And visit to the Rock Fort Temple, cowns a massive outcrop of rock that soars 83 meters upwards, from the surrounding plains. It is reached by a step flight of 437 steps cut into the rock.

Day 7                          Tanjore vMadurai                                                B,L

Before breakfast, join the Morning Holy Mass  at 06:30 AM.

Then drive to Madurai (approx 180 Kms/ 4 Hrs). It is the oldest city in Tamil Nadu & was originally known as Kadambavanam.

Today’s Highlights visit to Meenakshi Temple, the Hall of a Thousand Pillars. Visit The  Tirumal Nayak’s Palace. Its’ enormous roofed arcade supported by 48-foot-high stoned pillars.

Also witness night ceremony at Meenakshi Temple and enjoy the Rickshaw ride (TUK TUK).

Day 8                           Madurai v Munnar                            B,L

Drive to Munnar (approx 150 Kms/ 05 Hrs)

Munnar is 1600 Meter above sea level and is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams – Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala.

Today’s visit to Munnar city included Srishti -A Welfare Centre run by Tata tea. It aims at giving a quality life to the families of tea pluckers in Munnar.

Day 9                            Munnar v Periyar                                                B,L

Visit to the Tea Museum (Closed on Monday), before we drive to Periyar (approx 110  Kms/ 03.5Hrs)

Upon arrived Periyar in the Afternoon, proceed to Periyar National Park and  enjoy the boat cruise on Lake Periyar to witness the wild life. Tiger Reserve is one of the most captivating wildlife parks in the world.

Day 10        Periyar v Kumarakom                     B,L

Drive to Kumarakom (approx 150 Kms/ 04.5 Hrs)

The day is free at leisure.

Day 11          Kumarakom v Alleppey                                 B,L

After breakfast, drive to Alleppey (approx 40 Kms/ 40 minutes). Embark on Houseboat and cruise through the canals to observe & experience the daily life of the villagers along the backwaters.

Day 12        Alleppey v Kochi                                               B,L

Disembark boat at Alleppey and drive  to Kochi (Cochin) (approx 50 Kms/ 1.5 Hrs)

Today’s sightseeing to Mattancherry to visit the The Dutch Palace (Closed on Fridays & Saturdays) which was built in 1555,  Jewish Synagogue (Closed on Fridays) built in 1568; it was destroyed by the Portuguese and rebuilt by the Dutch a century.

Then visit the oldest European church in India  St. Francis’ Church, built in the year 1503 by Portuguese Franciscan Friars. Also visit Chinese Fishing Nets and Fort Cochin area.

Enjoy the  Kathakali Dance show in the evening.
