ITINERARY
DAY 1 Arrive Colombo – Negombo
Met on arrival and transfer to your hotel.

DAY 2 Negombo – Colombo – Negombo B,D
Today’s tour highlights include a city tour in Negombo and Colombo. Visit theNegombo lagoon, a fish auction, the Dutch Fort and a Catholic Church. In Colombo,visit the Hindu, Buddhist temples and the Jumi-ul Alfar Jumma Mosque. Drive by the Wolfendhal Dutch Church, Hultsdorf Law Courts, the Independence Square and the Bandaranayake Memorial International Conference Hall.
DAY 3 Negombo – Pinnawala – Habarana B,D
Drive to Pinnawala and visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage which was established in 1975 as a conservation and educational centre. Continue your drive to Habarana and check in your hotel.

DAY 4 Habarana – Aukana – Anuradhapura – Mihintale – Habarana B, D
Visit Aukana Buddha, standing at 12 m high, carved from a single rock and one of Sri Lanka’s most perfect statues. Continue to Anuradhapura with visits to Sri Maha Bodhi, an off shoot of the historical Bodhi tree planted in 288BC and Abhayagiri Dagaba,one of the most sacred pilgrimage cities in the world known for its extensive ruins. Conclude your tour at Mihintale the place where Buddhism was first introduced to Sri Lanka in 247 BC.
DAY 5 Habarana – Sigiriya – Habarana B, D
Drive to Sigiriya and climb the rock fortress known for its well-preserved frescoes of beautiful Sigiriyan court ladies halfway up the rock. Optional: Trek into Hiriwaduna (rural village) by bullock carts & oruwa (local boat). Enjoy an elephant back ride in Habarana Jungle.
DAY 6 Habarana – Polonnaruwa – Habarana B, D
Drive to Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka’s medieval capital from the 11th to the 13th century A.D. Visit the ruins of the Royal Palace, and Gal Vihare (Stone Temple), where you willM see some of the world’s finest and most impressive Buddha sculptures carved out of a granite cliff. This afternoon, enjoy an game drive to Minneriya National Park by a 4 x 4 jeep and see wild elephants, various amphians, local and immigrant birds.
DAY 7 Habarana – Dambulla – Matale – Kandy B, D
Drive to Dambulla Rock Cave Temple, a 1st century BC cave temple complex with an area 20,000 sq ft of stunning painted murals. From Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle, you will head off to the lakeside city of Kandy. En route stop is made at the Spice Garden at Matale. Enjoy a late afternoon cultural performance and a visit to the Temple of Tooth Relic which houses the tooth relic of Buddha.

DAY 8 Kandy – Nuwara Eliya – Kandy B, D
Enjoy an excursion to Nuwara Eliya the centre of the hill country. Take a train from Peradeniya Railway Station to Nanouya and drive to Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lankas’s most popular hill resort, and also the heart of the country’s tea zone. Visit a Tea Plantation at Peradeniya and watch women plucking the ‘Green Gold’.
DAY 9 Kandy B, D
Today’s highlight includes visits to the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya and Kandy Town Bazaar. Return to your hotel after the tour in a tuk tuk (pedi cab).
DAY 10 Kandy ✈ Colombo Departure B
Fly to Colombo for your connecting flight onward.

Day 10 Colombo – Hikkaduwa
Drive to Hikkaduwa (100 kms/approx. 2 hrs) for your 3 night beach stay.

DAY 11 Hikkaduwa – Galle – Lunuganga – Hikkaduwa B
After breakfast, drive to Galle, a UNESCO declared World Heritage Site, situated on the southwestern tip of Sri Lanka. The 300-year old magnificent Dutch fort, with its Dutch atmosphere is still very much alive around the fort. The City of Galle had been the European administrative centre over 4 centuries.
Continue to Lunuganga and visit the most unique and exquisite Geoffrey Bawa Gardens, designed by one of the most influential architects in the country. Once an abandoned rubber estate, the land was transformed into a breathtaking place of stay in the country.
DAY 12 Hikkaduwa B
Today is free at leisure.
DAY 13 Hikkaduwa – Colombo Departure B
Transfer to Colombo Airport for departure flight.
