Canadians traveling on regular passports do not require a visa to enter Malaysia. (Traveller is advised to contact the embassy to check visa requirements.)

Lightweight, washable, casual clothes are the order of the day in Malaysia – cotton or cotton-rich/synthetic mix (preferably the former) are recommended. A light sweater is a good idea for cooler evenings.

Bahasa Malaysia is the national language. Other languages include Chinese, Tamil and Iban. English is widely used.
