DAY 1   Arrive Kota Kinabalu

Arrive in Kota Kinabalu and transfer to your hotel.

Hotel: 4★Promenade Hotel or similar (3 nights)

DAY 2   Kota Kinabalu                                                        B, D

Spend the afternoon exploring (on foot) some of the historical highlights of the city- Gaya Street; Dea Soka, central square in the city, Malaysia Monument and North Borneo Memorial. Head to the waterfront in the evening and begin your culinary adventure at the market followed by a local seafood dinner.

DAY 3   Kota Kinabalu                                                     B, L, D

Enjoy a full day tour to Kinabalu National Park, a stunning UNESCO World Heritage site and home to a wide range of unspoilt flora and fauna.

DAY 4   Kota Kinabalu SandakanvSepilokKinabatangan River (Abai)              B, L, D

Fly to Sandakan. Met on arrival and drive to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center. Observe man’s closest relative “the Orang Utan” being rehabilitated to become wild in their natural habitat and experience a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterocarp Forest of Borneo. Witness the feeding of Orang Utann at the feeding platform and proceed to the Orang Utan Nursery. Later, continue to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, the Centre that managed to improve the living condition of the rescued sun bear.

Transfer to SimSim Jetty for your scheduled boat to Abai Jungle Lodge. Enjoy this wonderful journey of discovery which starts from the waters of Sulu Sea of Sandakan Town through a magnificent scenery of the Mangrove Forest. Late afternoon, board a cruise to search for wildlife until sunset.

DAY 5   Kinabatangan River (Abai – Sukau)      B, L, D

Early morning take a river trip to Pitas Lake to observe wildlife and experience the unique of Pitas Lake. After breakfast, join our tree planting project with the locals and enjoy a simple lunch arranged by the villagers at Abai Village. This afternoon, cruise along the Kinabatangan River in search of more wildlife. Return lodge for dinner.

DAY 6   Kinabatangan River (Sukau) Lahad DatuDanum Valley                       B, L,D

Journey overland to Lahad Datu and stop by Borneo Nature Office for registration & briefing. Drive 83km from Lahad Datu to Danum Valley through selectively logged forest, cocoa and soft-wood plantations before arriving at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge beside Danum River on the edge of 438 sq. km of undisturbed lowland rainforest. The Lodge is home to the full range of Sabah’s lowland fauna, including the rare Sumatran Rhinoceros, Elephants, Clouded Leopards, and Orang Utans. Explore nature trail and nearby river. After dinner, one can go spotlighting to view some of the nocturnal animals in an open-top vehicle (weather permits).

Overnight: Borneo Rainforest Lodge, Danum Valley (2 nights)

DAY 7   Danum Valley                               B, L, D

Enjoy early morning bird walk before breakfast. Spend the whole day exploring the forest for birds and mammals, leading up to an escarpment with ancient burial coffins “Coffin Cliff”. Trek to waterfall for a dip in refreshing rock pools – “Jacuzzi Pool”. Return to lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, jungle trek or go for a relaxing session of “tubing” down the Danum River. Night walk in search of nocturnal animals if weather permits.

DAY 8   Danum ValleyLahad Datu Kota Kinabalu – Kuala Lumpur                       B

Fly to Kuala Lumpur via Kota kinabalu. Met on arrival and transferred to your hotel.

DAY 9   Kuala Lumpur                                     B

Your morning city tour highlights the famous Batu Caves Hindu Temple where a million Hindu devotees celebrate the Thaipusam Festival every year. Return to the city and visit Kuala Lumpur’s landmarks – National Monument, King Palace and the National Mosque, the Independence Square and the Petronas Twin Towers.

DAY 10 Kuala Lumpur Departure                           B
