ITINERARY
DAY 1 Beijing – Ulaanbaatar
Travel to Ulaanbaatar on the incredible Trans-Mongolia railway. Enjoy a scenic journey along the Great Wall and through northern China filled with endless rural landscapes.
Hotel: Overnight, Trans-Mongolia Train
DAY 2 Arrive Ulaanbaatar D
Travel over the Gobi Desert into the Mongolian Steppes. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and visit the National History Museum. Tonight, enjoy a local cultural performance, the best ensemble of Mongolia.
Hotel: 3* Chinggis Khan Hotel or similar (1 night)
DAY 3 Ulaanbaatar – Gobi B, L, D
Visit the famous Gandan Lamasery and experience a prayer ceremony. Fly to Dalazadgad and drive to Gurvan Saikhan National Park and enjoy a walk through the river gorge in Yoliin Am Valley.
Overnight: Gobi Discovery Tourist Camp or similar (2 nights)
DAY 4 South Gobi Desert B, L, D
Visit Bayan Zag (“Flaming Cliffs” in Mongolian) and explore the Gobi “Cemetery of Dinosaurs”. Trek on Roy Chapman Andrews’ (American naturalist) Trail to see the valley and the first dinosaur eggs founded in the 1920s. Visit a camel breeder’s family and take an optional camel ride.
DAY 5 Gobi F- Ulaanbaatar – Gun-Galuut Nature Reserve B, L, D
Fly back to Ulaanbaatar and drive to Gun-Galuut Nature Reserve. Hike or drive to Mt. Baits for a view of the famous Argali sheep and other wildlife. Take an optional kayaking or fishing experience on the River Kherlen. Enjoy a special Mongolian dish “Khorkhog” (roasted lamb with veggies and rice) for dinner.

DAY 6 Gun-Galuut Nature Reserve – Ulaanbaatar B, L, D
Visit a Herdsman family and taste a Mongolian drink called “Airag“, made from mare’s milk. Enjoy a 2-hour horseride, followed by lunch before heading back to Ulaanbaatar for some shopping experience. Enjoy a Mongolian Barbeque Dinner.

DAY 7 Ulaanbaatar Departure B
This morning, visit the Palace Museum of Bogd Khan, the palace for the last king of Mongolia. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
