DAY 2 Yangon B,D
Your full-day sightseeing highlights an exploration of downtown Yangon. Visit the Sule Pagoda, famous landmark of the city; the Kalaywa Monastery, home to 1000 monks and observe the morning meal procession; continue to Chauk Htat Gyi Reclining Buddha and en route stops at Kandawgyi Park and Karaweik Royal Barge. Proceed to the Mahasi Meditation Center for a session with the monk. Visit the historic Shwedagon pagoda at sunset. Dinner is at Le Planteur; the finest French Indochine restaurant in Myanmar.
DAY 3 Yangon – Mandalay – Sagaing – Amarapura – Mandalay B, L, D
Fly to Myanmar’s cultural center Mandalay. Visit the Shwe Kyaung (Golden Palace Monastery) and the Kuthodaw Pagoda known as the World’s Biggest Book with the Buddhist scripture carved on 729 marble slabs. Drive to Sagaing Hills, a retreat for Buddhist devotees. Visit the monasteries and observe monks and nuns ways of life. Spend the afternoon touring Sagaing Village on a cyclo ride and get a real taste of local Burmese life. Embark on a tour of Amarapura, known as “City of Immortals” and enjoy sunset from U Bein Bridge, Myanmar’s longest teak bridge. Return to Mandalay for your overnight stay.

DAY 4 Mandalay – Mingun – Mandalay B, L
Take a boat along the Ayeyarwaddy River to visit Mingun, a village on the west bank of the river. Visit the ground of whitewashed Set Taw Yar Pagoda to see the footprint of Buddha made of marble. Continue your tour to the unfinished Mingy Paya which was built in 1790; Mingun Bell, the heaviest functioning bell in the world and Mya Thein Tan pagoda. Return to Mandalay and visit Mahamuni Pagoda, the second most sacred image in Myanmar.
DAY 5 Mandalay – RV Paukan B, L, D
Transfer to your jetty and join the RV Paukan Cruise to Bagan (cruise operates from Oct to Mar). The Irrawaddy Flotilla recreated the RV Paukan which was built in 2007. The RV Paukan has the ability to dock anywhere along the journey enabling you to explore villages well off the beaten track. Enjoy full-day exploration on River Irrawaddy with lunch and dinner on board. (For travel during Apr to Oct, you will fly to Bagan for 3 nights including a visit to Mt. Popa)

DAY 6 RV Paukan – Bagan B, L, D
After your relaxing cruise, arrive in Bagan by mid morning and disembark from RV Paukan. Visit the most culturally significant and best preserved Pagodas, the Shwezigon Pagoda, a prototype of real Myanmar stupa, built in 1087, Ku Byauk Gyi Temple for its exquisite murals, Khay Min Ga Temple, Htilo Minlo and the amazing Ananda Temple with its four standing Buddha Images.
The only way to truly appreciate the scale of Bagan is to watch the sunset from one of the viewpoints (mound) where you can see thousands of temples stretch across the plain (the guide will choose the best location according to the season).

DAY 7 Bagan B, L, D
Early morning visits to the colorful Nyaung Oo Market followed by Phwar Saw Village to observe daily home cooking style in one of the local homes. Visit the monuments around the Myinkaba Village including Nanbeya Temple, Manuha Pagoda, and Myingaba Gu Byauk Gyi, a UNESCO Heritage Site noted for its ancient mural paintings. Discover Bagan’s temples on a Pony cart. This evening enjoy a relaxing sunset cruise along the Irrawaddy River.
DAY 8 Bagan – Heho – Inle Lake B, L, D
Optional Balloon Over Bagan tour early in the morning (weather permits)
Fly to Heho and enjoy a scenic drive to Nyaung Shwe, a quaint town on the shores of Inle Lake. The lake (22 km long and 11 km wide) is famous for its unique one-leg rowers, typical floating gardens and village life. Visit the five shapeless Buddha images of Phaung Daw U Pagoda. Experience a homestyle Burmese
cuisine with a cooking class followed by visits to the colorful local market at Nampan Village for silk weavings and local cigar making demonstration.

DAY 9 Inle Lake – Inndein – Inle Lake B, L, D
This morning visit the 5-Day Market held at one of the villages and observe local minorities engaging in trade. Visit the ruined stupas and temples at the lake-side village of Inndein and a covered walkway leads to the main Shwe Inn Thein Paya with great views across the lake. Continue to Inn Paw Khone, a small village that specializes in silk weaving. End the day with a tranquil canoe ride to witness life in one of the floating villages.
DAY 10 Inle Lake – Heho – Yangon Departure B
Transfer to Heho for flight to Yangon.

From Yangon 2 Days / 1 Night
DAY 1 Yangon – Kyaikhtiyo L, D
Travel by road to Kyaikhtiyo, a huge boulder covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. Upon arrival at the base camp, transfer to Yethetaung on an open truck and trek up to the Golden Rock from the “upper area” (approximately 4 kms) up steep paths, to the Golden Rock.

DAY 2 Kyaikhtiyo – Yangon B, L
After breakfast, transfer on an open truck back to the base camp. Head back to Yangon with en route stop at the 13th century capital of Bago for a visit to the 55 meter reclining Buddha and a Mon style pagoda.

Pindaya Extension
From Inle Lake 2 Days / 1 Night
DAY 1 Arrive Heho > Pindaya
Upon arrival, drive to Pindaya, a small quiet town perched on the bank of the placid Botoloke Lake.
Today’s excursion to Shwe Oo Min Natural Cave Pagoda at Pindaya passes through some of the most fertile and lush scenery in Myanmar. Home to farming communities that have worked the land for centuries, it is not uncommon to see buffalo-drawn carts and groups of famers wearing the traditional dress of the region.
Of all the caves temples in Shan State, those at Pindaya are the most impressive and there are more than 8000 statues of Buddha adorning the many caves in various shapes and sizes and ranging from centuries-old to almost new. Explore the caves and on the return journey stop at a local workshop and witness Shan paper and umbrella making.
