Day 1 – Arrive Tokyo

Met on arrival and transferred to your hotel by coach.

Hotel: 4★ Keio Plaza Hotel or similar (3 nights)

Day 2   Tokyo – Nikko – Tokyo

Explore Nikko, starting with a visit to the Toshogu Shrine. After a Japanese style lunch at local restaurant, visit Lake Chuzenji and Kegon Waterfall. Return to Tokyo where your tour disbands on arrival at Ginza or Shinjuku station.

Day 3   Tokyo
Enjoy a day’s tour highlights visits to Meiji Shrine, Japan’s famous Shinto Shrine and Imperial Palace East Garden. Browse through the many stores lining Nakamise-dori walkway leading up to Asakusa Kannon Temple, Tokyo’s oldest and most famous Buddhist temple. After lunch, enjoy a relaxing 50-minute cruise around Tokyo Bay before crossing the Rainbow

Day 4  Tokyo – Mt. Fuji – Hakone
Drive to Mount Fuji with a stop at the 5th station for breathtaking views of the mountain (weather permitting). Proceed to Hakone National Park for a cruise on Lake Ashi. Take the Hakone Ropeway up to Owakudani station for panoramic views of the spectacular Mount Fuji area. Spend the night at Hakone, famous for its hot springs (onsen).

Day 5     Hakone –Takayama  
Board your Shinkansen train bound for Nagoya and transfer to JR Limited Train for Takayama. Stroll through the old town of Takayama, visiting Yatai Kaikan Hall, where colorfully decorated traditional festival floats are displayed; Kusakabe Folkcraft Museum, formerly the residence of powerful merchants; and the streets of Kami Sannomachi, with preserved traditional Japanese wooden houses.

Day 6   Takayama -Shirakawago – Kanazawa  

Visit the famous “Asaichi” morning market in Takayama. Enjoy a scenic drive to Shirakawago, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its gassho-zukuri houses surrounded by mountains and rice-fields. Visit the Former Wada Family Residence, with steep thatched roofs and Gassho-zukuri Town. Drive to Kanazawa and check in your hotel.

Day 7    Kanazawa – Kyoto
Take the airport limousine coach for your transfer to the airport.

Your morning sightseeing in Kanazawa include visits to the Kenrokuen Garden, known as one of the three best gardens in Japan, Kutaniyaki Pottery Kiln, and old Samurai Residence (Nomura Residence). Take a limited express train to Kyoto.

Day 8 Kyoto – Hiroshima – Miyajima – Hiroshima – Kyoto 

Today’s tour highlights the World Heritage Sites of Miyajima, with its stately red torii rising from the ocean, the Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Dome, dedicated to promoting peace around the world and Hiroshima Peace & Memorial Park.


Day 9     Kyoto –Osaka –Kyoto

Board a local express train for Osaka and take a guided walking tour. See Osaka’s famous sights including the Aerial Garden Observatory for a commanding view of the city and Osaka Castle, the symbol of Osaka known for its magnificent stone wall. Walk to the nearby river boat dock to board the Aqua Liner for an hour-long cruise around Nakanoshima.

Return to Kyoto for overnight stay.

Breakfast and Lunch

Day 10   Kyoto – Arashiyama – Kyoto
Explore one of Kyoto’s great Zen temples, the Tenryuji Temple (World Heritage Site); wander through the bamboo groves of Sagano and Jojakkoji Temple.  Cross the Togetsukyo Bridge “Moon Crossing Bridge”,  Arashiyama’s most iconic landmark.


Day 11  Kyoto  – Nara – Kyoto 
Spend your morning sightseeing with visits to the Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), Nijo Castle known for its lavish interiors, and Kyoto Imperial Palace. After lunch, drive to Nara for visits to Todaiji Temple, Nara Deer Park and the colorful Kasuga Taisha Shrine with 3,000 lanterns.

Day 12   Kyoto – Osaka Departure

Take the airport shuttle to the airport
